Zambia’s Christian Nation not being upheld

By TAWANDA MUNYUKI

The Independent Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) has expressed concern that thirty one years since the declaration of Zambia was declared a Christian nation, the country has not lived up to the standard of the declaration.

ICOZ president David Masupa has noted there is a lot of immorality in the country which does not sit well with the declaration.

Zambia this year commemorated thirty one years since it was declared a Christian nation in 1991.

Bishop Masupa says it is saddening to note that even the church has not played it parts as it should in upholding the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation.

He says there is more that needs to be done by the citizens , leaders and the church in ensuring that Zambian begins to live up to its standards of being a Christian nation.

Bishop Masupa all players need to work together to ensure that the declaration is not just on paper but also in deeds.
