A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy of Misisi compound who went missing for four days has been found drowned in Ngwenya dam.
The father of the boy, Joseph Mususa identified his son, as Elijah Mususa.
He said the boy told him that he had gone to visit his aunty but never returned prompting him to report the missing child at Kuku, Chawama and Los Angel Police posts.
Mr Mususa said that the childās body was discovered yesterday at Ngwenyawith a swollen face.
And Footprints Children in Zambia director Sevelino Vasco said that it is not known whether the boy was murdered and dumped in the dam or he fell in it.
He said that his non-governmental organization has been re-integrating children living in the streets with their families.
Mr Vasco said that his organisation has in the past helped the father of the dead boy, Mr Mususa, who is a former street kid.
He described the incident as unfortunate and called on the police to investigate the cause of death.
Government has started picking street kids and putting them in orphanages as a way of preventing them from contracting the deadly Coronavirus.
