Copperbelt Province Minister Elisha Matambo has informed Tanzania High Commissioner to Zambia Lieutenant Mathew Edward Mkingule, the Province is ready for all forms of investments from Tanzania as the environment is now conducive for both long and short term investments.
Mr Matambo said this when the Tanzanian High Commissioner paid a courtesy call on him.
He added that, the current prevailing law and order and economic gains taking place on the Copperbelt has created an enabling business environment good for both long and short term investments in all sectors of Zambia’s economy.
“As a province we are ready for the investment from the investors from Tanzania. With the peace and unity which being enjoyed in Zambia, the investors will be able to operate freely,” Mr Matambo said.
Meanwhile, Lt Mkingule commended President Hakainde Hichilema for strategically transforming TAZAMA pipe line into clean diesel as the move has reduced transportation costs of oil by 70 percent.
He used the same occasion to thank TAZAMA management from both Zambia and Tanzania for providing technical experts currently working on the damage that happened on the pipe line from the Tanzanian side as a result of some construction works.
And Mr Matambo and Lt Mkingule expressed happiness with the continued strong bilateral relationship between Zambia and Tanzania which dates back to the founding presidents of both countries Dr Kenneth Kaunda and Dr Mwalimu Nyerere.
Zambia and Tanzania shares strategic big projects namely TAZAMA Pipeline and TAZARA Railway.
Since forming government in 2021, the new dawn administration has been engaging more in economic diplomacy with countries while implementing a proactive foreign policy anchored on mutual respect making the country into a reginal power trade destination.
