UPND administration still has an opposition mentality that is why they cannot stop the blame game in whatever difficulties they encounter, PF presidential hopeful Greyford Monde has said.
Mr Monde said UPND had a chance to prove to the people that they were ready to govern by facing problems head on and finding solutions to challenges.
He said Zambians could not afford to have a government that always points at the past without providing solutions to the problems they face.
Mr Monde also said the anticipated six hours of load shedding daily which the government said was because of low water levels at Kariba Dam was unrealistic.
He said the PF had invested heavily in the energy sector such that the dependence on Kariba for power generation was reduced because of other plants that were put up.
Mr Monde said the real challenge that Zesco was facing was lack of capacity to effectively run the power generation plants because most of the experts that were there were fired on political lines.
“It’s a lie the water levels are not that low to a point of having six hours load shedding, I was in Itezhi-tezhi, Kariba the water levels are just okay and for the fact that UPND just a few weeks ago were bragging that they have ended load shedding meaning the issue of low water levels is not there,” he said.
He said what UPND does not realise is that dismissing people on political lines also affects productivity in all sectors.
Mr Monde said it was very shameful for the UPND to still blame the PF for the late delivery of farming inputs despite them having ran the programme for two farming seasons, UPND still blames the former regime for the poor economic performance when they were the ones injuring the sector with the monthly review of fuel prices.
