Covid-19 knocks off Spax’s murder case

THE rape and murder trial involving Mulenga Kabaso popularly known as ‘Spax’ and five others could not be heard on Wednesday as the court recorded a case of Covid-19.

The accused were supposed to appear in the Kitwe High Court for continued trial.

However, dates as to when trial would continue had not been given.

This is in a matter in which Boyd Kamizhi 24, Maclean Kamizhi 22, Gilbert Zimba 22, Syvio Kwibisa 22, Jimmy Bwembya 23 and Spax 29, are appearing before Justice Abha Patel for attempted murder, rape and murder.

In count one, details are that between 22 and 23 January 2019 the accused allegedly murdered Emmanuel Maponda of Chingola district.

Particulars of the offence in count two are that the accused persons on dates between 22 and 23 January 2020 attempted to murder Billy Maponda in Chingola.

In the third count the accused persons attempted to murder Sheila Bwembya between 22 and 23 January in Chingola.

In count four particulars are that on dates unknown but between 22 and 23 January the accused attempted to murder Stanley Maponda in Chingola.

And in the last count, between 22 and 23 January the accused persons had raped a woman.
