Chikotesha to officiate at 2023 World Cup

WORLD football governing body, FIFA has pre-selected Zambian female assistant referee Diana Chikotesha to officiate at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

Chikotesha is among 156 referees and assistant referees selected from all over the world for the tournament slated for July 10 to August 20.
The 2023 Women’s World Cup is expected to be played in 12 cities across Australia and New Zealand, the two host nations.


Chikotesha will represent the continent at the tournament in Australia and New Zealand alongside 10 other assistant referees from Africa.
The other 10 include Mimisen Iyorhe, selected as an assistant referee from Nigeria, Queency Victoire from Mauritius, Fatiha Jermoumi from Morocco, Mary Njoroge from Kenya and Lidwine Rakotozafinoro from Madagascar.
Others are Bernadettar Kwimbira from Malawi, Fanta Kone from Mali, Carine Fomo representing Cameroon and Egypt’s Yara Abdelfattah.
Meanwhile, FIFA has selected eight female referees from Africa to officiate at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
