Thieving farmer jailed 5 years

DESPITE the name BigBrain Bubala has appeared before the the Choma Magistrates Court accused of assaulting two men – a charge he has denied claiming that the duo were just looking for a fight.
In this matter Bigbrain of Choma has been dragged to Court charged with two counts of Assault contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
Allegations in the first count are that Bubala Assaulted Gift Hamani and thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
In the second count he is accused of assaulting Maybin Hampongo and also occasioned him actual bodily harm.
The incidents are said to have occurred on October 22 in Choma District of Southern Province.
When he appeared for plea before Resident Magistrate Ethel Phiri, he told the Court that a fight broke out and they fought with the complainants.
Magistrate Phiri entered pleas of not guilty and adjourned the matter to November 12 for trial.
Bigbrain was remanded in custody.
