Mopani, Nkana ties strong

NKANA Football Club president Joseph Silwamba has denied reports that Mopani Copper Mines has terminated sponsorship for the 2019/2020 FAZ Super Division champions.
In a statement, Silwamba said contrary to social media rumours, Mopani has supplemented Nkana FC’s funding for this year by giving the club additional support since last month when the club depleted its allocation for the 2020 financial year.
“Mopani is further assisting Nkana FC to ensure that the 13-time Zambian champions fulfil their 2020/2021 CAF Champions League engagements by ensuring that the necessary finances and other requirements are sourced,” Silwamba said.
He said the Kitwe giants will compete in the CAF Champions League without fail after more sponsors joined Mopani in sponsoring Nkana.
Silwamba said Mopani and the new sponsors will motivate the club to go beyond their last achievement in the continental competitions.
