Kateka waters Malala Ward despite electoral loss

By Nation Reporter

CHISHALA Kateka has made a rare commitment to the people of Malala Ward to provide safe water, despite losing an election to the UPND in a recent local government by-election.

In a message of congratulations to the UPND for winning the by-election, Ms Kateka said residents of Malala Ward had grappled with lack of safe drinking water for a long time and the New Heritage Party will do its best to help them.

“New Heritage Party stands by its commitment, even after losing the election, that we will do everything in our power to, in some way, alleviate this water situation for our people of Malala Ward,” Ms Kateka said.

The opposition leader said the local leadership of the New Heritage Party will engage all relevant stakeholders in the ward on how best to actualize the dream of having clean and safe drinking water.
