Kasama residents complain of noise pollution

Residents of Central Town in Kasama District, have expressed concern over noise pollution coming from an industrial block making company which is operating in the residential area.

Timothy Chinunda, a resident in the area has described the noise from the factory as disturbing.

Mr Chinunda said the machine is making too much noise and disturbing people in the area.

He added that the noise coming from the machine is even distracting learners in the area who are failing to concentrate on their studies.

Mr Chinunda has since appealed to Kasama Municipal Council to engage the business owner so that it can be relocated.

And the Kasama Municipal Council has confirmed having received complaints of the noise pollution.

Assistant Public Relations Officer, Mino Musonda said the council has since engaged the business owners to stop operations.

And efforts to get a comment from the factory owner failed as her phone went unanswered.
