LAWYER’S FORGERY CASE FAILS TO TAKE OFF

CHARLES MUSONDA writes

THE case in which Lusaka lawyer Nathaniel Inambao is jointly charged with a legal assistant over alleged forgery failed to take off in court yesterday.

Inambao, who is also former Commissioner of Lands, is jointly charged with Mubanga Chibonga for allegedly forging a dead man’s Will

It is alleged that between January 26, 2018 and June 30, 2018, with intent to deceive or defraud, Inambao and Chibonga jointly forged the Will for the late Dominic Chimfwembe and uttered it to his widow Carol Musonda whom the latter had married after divorcing his first wife Beauty Kafwimbi.

The case was yesterday scheduled for continued trial and the State was ready to proceed with two witnesses but lawyer representing the accused persons Charles Changano informed Magistrate Judith Chiyayika that Inambao was attending to another matter before another court.

Mr. Changano told the court that the matter could proceed and that Inambao would join the proceedings later.

But Ms. Chiyayika said the case could not proceed in the absence of Inambao because it is a criminal matter and later adjourned it to June 12, 2020.
