PROMOTED Super League side, Kansanshi Dynamos’s appeal against its ban, in order to allow spectators watch its two home fixtures, has been thrown out by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).
The FAZ disciplinary committee on July 30, sanctioned the club to pay K10, 000.00 and play its first two opening fixtures at home in an empty stadium.
This was after the home fans’ unruly behavior in a play-off match against Young Green Eagles at Solwezi’s Independence Stadium.
But Dynamos had appealed the decision seeking it be overturned to allow its fans into the stadium witness their historic first game in their debut season in the Zambian super league.
The North Western-based side, will have its first two home games against Power Dynamos and Green Buffaloes played in an empty stadium.
Club chairman, Maimbo Silimi, has appealed to his side’s fans to comply with the FAZ directive by steering off the stadium in order to avoid more sanctions.
Silimi implored on the fans to alternatively follow proceedings of the match on social media saying that going to the stadium would attract stiffer sanctions on the team from the Association.
He said it was deeply regretted that the club fans would not be part of a momentous occasion marking the team’s entry into the super league because of the ban imposed on them by FAZ.
The Dynamos however noted that much as it was painful and frustrating not to witness the first 2 home games, they still had many more to enjoy and that their support was still needed.
“My appeal to you all is that we observe this directive from FAZ by staying away from the game completely. Again, painful as it maybe, not to watch our first Super League game, we need to abide by this directive to avoid any further sanctions,” Silimi said.
He said, “We therefore make a passionate appeal to all our supporters and the Solwezi community to follow the game proceedings on Facebook as abrogating this sanction can attract stiffer sanctions.”
