Kabwe Academy fan dies

A KABWE Youth Soccer Academy supporter died on the spot in a road traffic accident on Saturday after watching his side beat National Assembly to earn a spot in the Super League next season

The car in which Mulenga and two other people were hit into a stationary vehicle near the Zambia National Service camp in Kabwe.

The other two passengers were seriously injured.

One of them, Stanley Munshya, is in the Intensive Care Unit while the other unidentified passenger is also receiving treatment in hospital.

And the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has condoled with Mulenga’s family.

General secretary Adrian Kashala also extended condolences to the Kabwe Youth Academy for its loss.

“We have learnt with deep shock the passing of one of the Kabwe Youth Academy supporters a few hours after watching their team win promotion to the Super League,” he said.

“We mourn with them and particularly wish to console the bereaved family.”

KYSA on Saturday afternoon beat National Assembly 2-0 in a Super League promotional play-off match at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka.
