A FORTY-SIX-year-old woman of Lwamalamba area in Kasempa Lister Mushibwe died on the spot after a speeding car lost control and crashed her to death.
The fatal accident RTA occurred about 4kilometrs north of the Kasempa Boma.
Provincial police commissioner Mr Hudson Namachila confirmed the accident to the Sun and identified the driver to the motor vehicle a Hino Ranger with the registration number ATB 4128 involved as Victor Haboba aged 57 of Njenyauke area.
Mr Namachila said Haboba driving in the northern direction north to south due failed to stop at a barricaded point to excessive speed and hit into it.
“The driver’s car is said to have been moving at a top speed which lead him hit into the barricaded point and a tree that carried him off the road to the left side where he then hit into three nearby pedestrians”,
“Lister Mushibwe who sustained head injuries died on the spot while Karen Mufwala aged 28 of Dengwe area sustained a painful back and Gloria Mokola aged 32 of Lwamalamba area sustained general body pains”, Mr Namachila said
The commissioner said the two casualties were quickly admitted to Mukinge Mission Hospital and the deceased’s body was deposited in the same hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
“The driver is to blame for causing the accident having a life lost therefore, he has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving”, he said.
