LUSAKA lawyer, Nathaniel Inambao, has been charged for one count of forgery, contrary to Sections 347 and 342 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Inambao, 54, is former Commissioner of Lands, and was one of the lawyers that represented UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema and others when they were charged for treason in 2017.

He has been jointly charged with Mubanga Chibonga, a legal assistant.

Particulars of offence, in the first count, are that between January 26, 2018 and June 14, 2018, in Lusaka, with intent to defraud or deceive, the two jointly and whilst acting together allegedly forged a Will by purporting to show that it was genuinely issued and signed by Donald Chimfwembe when in fact not.

In the second count, Chibonga has been charged for allegedly uttering a false document.

Particulars of offence are that between the same dates, in Lusaka, Chibonga jointly and whilst acting together with others unknown, allegedly knowingly and fraudulently uttered the same forged Will for Donald Chimfwembe to Mutale Chimfwembe.

When the case came up for allocation, before Chief Resident Magistrate Kenneth Mulife, the two were not before court as they are on police bond.

Mr. Mulife has since allocated the case to Principal Resident Magistrate David Simusamba who will preside over the matter.
