FORMER Africa Boxing Union (ABU) heavyweight champion Joseph ‘No Pressure’ Chingangu’s daughter, Grace, has been named the most consistent Karateka in the Zambia Nation Service (ZNS).

Grace was awarded at the 2018 ZNs annual sports gala held at the Makeni Garrison in Lusaka on Friday.

During the same ceremony, Karateka Brenda Mugala was named the most improved female athlete, Rhoda Njobvu as the sports women-of-the-year in athletics, whilst boxer, Evaristo Mulenga, scooped the sports man-of-the-year medal.

And speaking in an interview with The Sun, shortly after receiving the medal, Njobvu, who is a 100 and 200 meters sprinter, attributed her good performance to hard work.

“I am highly motivated to have won this award because I have worked very hard for it. I will continue trying to perfect my career,” she said.

Njobvu encouraged her competitors and upcoming sports women to work harder because “everything is possible with hard work.”

“We face a lot of challenges in athletics and women but my encouragement to fellow female athletes is not to give up but to stay focused,” she said.

Boxer Mulenga, on the other hand, appealed to fellow young boxers to intensify their training this year.
