A 30-YEAR-OLD woman of Kkota-Kkota Ward in Gwembe District in Southern Province has died after being attacked by a crocodile while she was washing some kitchen utensils on the shores of Lake Kariba.
Area Councillor Edward Gama who has confirmed the death, says the incident happened on Wednesday and has identified the deceased as Croudester Goga of Hamatuna area in Gwembe District.
Mr Gama says Ms Goga was alone at the time she was attacked by the giant reptile as other family members are believed to have gone on different errands.
Mr Gama adds that the body of the deceased has since been retrieved from the lake and was buried immediately.
And in a related development, a 15-year-old boy of Simulikila village in Sinafala ward in Gwembe district is battling for his life at Maamba General Hospital after being attacked by a crocodile.
Desmond Siandelema, the area ward Councilor has identified the victim as Oline Chaliseenta who met his fate while fishing on Lake Kariba on Tuesday.
