Lusaka Magistrate Allan Kangwa has committed a 30 year old woman of Lusaka to the High court for killing her husband using a pounding stick.

In this matter, Mary Kapisha of Meanwood is facing one count of murder contrary to the Laws of Zambia.

Particulars are that on October 7, 2022, Kapisha did murder John Kalaba. It is alleged that the victim was murdered by his wife after a marital dispute.

It is also alleged that the pounding stick was used on him.

During postmortem, it was established that the victim died due to blunt impact trauma to the head. The body had no injuries.

Further allegations are that the accused’s son on September 2022 saw his father coming home and wanted to take medication, but his mother had gotten the bag where the medicine was to the sitting room.

Then the mother got a pounding stick and hit his father slightly in the head and he fell on the bed. After a week, she took him to the hospital.

After reading of the charge to the accused person, Magistrate Kangwa committed the matter to the high court for commencement of plea.
