An Accountant at SOS Children’s Village Trust Brian Mtonga aged 40 has been arrested by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) for theft by servant involving over K24 million.
Public Relations Officer Hussein Khan said DEC through its Anti-Money Laundering Investigations Unit has arrested and charged Br Mtonga Garden in his capacity as Accountant at SOS Children’s Village.
Mr Khan said the accused fraudulently transferred the money into his personal accounts and later bought several motor vehicles and two plots.
Meanwhile, DEC has charged and arrested a Chinese national Huang Jianlan for fraud and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Mr Khan said Jianlan has been charged and arrested for operating a casino without a licence contrary, forgery and uttering of false documents and possession of property suspected to be Proceeds of crime contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
