Muchinga Province Minister Warns cadres in Nakonde

By NAMO PHIRI

MUCHINGA Province Minister Henry Sikazwe has warned youths in Nakonde who are harassing motorists and the public doing timber business in the district to desist from such acts.

Mr Sikazwe said his office had received reports of some youths in Nakonde who have been harassing motorists and timber sellers and collecting money from them.

He said the provincial officials and his office were not aware of where the youths were taking the money that they were collecting from the motorists and timber sellers but warned of stiff consequences against those who will be caught.

Mr Sikazwe said his office would not take lightly any act that seeks to infringe upon the peace and freedom that his people were enjoying in the province.

“I will not tolerate such acts from anyone and am now urging the district officials in Nakonde district to pull up their socks and ensure that the situation is arrested because we cannot have people sitting on the rights of others, such acts are criminal,” said Mr Sikazwe

He said the government had been clear over issues of caderism and anyone found practicing issues of caderism would be on their own as they would not be tolerated by the UPND administration.

Mr Sikazwe has urged youths in Nakonde and the province to take advantage of the various empowerment programmes that the government has introduced and empower themselves with something to do.
