School structures to reduce overcrowding in classes – MP

Mwansabombwe, January 24, 2022, ZANIS — Mwansabombwe constituency Member of Parliament, Kabaso Kampampi has handed over three classroom blocks constructed using the Constituency Development funds (CDF) to the District Education Board Secretary’s office.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mr. Kampampi said the additional school structures will reduce on the overcrowding of pupils in classes and help to provide a conducive learning environment for the pupils.

Mr. Kampampi handed over a one by two classroom block at Kankoloto primary school constructed at a cost of over K235, 000 and a one by three classroom block at Lufubu primary school constructed at a cost of 380,000 kwacha.

The Mwansabombwe lawmaker also handed over a one by three classroom block at Mwata Chinkonkole primary school constructed at a total cost of 380,000 kwacha.

He said such projects are an indication that government cares about the welfare of the people in Mwansabombwe district

And Mr. Kabaso said the establishment of a new school at Mwata Chinkonkole primary school will help reduce on the distances which learners used to cover to access education services.

And speaking at the same occasion, District Education Board Secretary Mary Kanyimbo said education for all is no longer a dream but becoming a reality.

Dr. Kanyimbo said infrastructure is a prerequisite to quality education and has since thanked government for using part of the CDF to construct the classroom blocks at the three learning institutions.

She also urged the parents to ensure that no child stays at home as government is now meeting the needs of the parents by paying tuition fees and other school requirements on their behalf

Meanwhile, Town council chairperson Terrioh Chungu thanked the Constituency Development Committee for selecting projects that have a huge impact on the livelihood of the people in the district.

Mr. Chungu said education contributes to the social economic development of any given place and that many challenges which people face in the communities will be addressed through such projects.

He however said his office will take particular interest in the execution of CDF projects to ensure that things are moving in the right direction. – ZANIS
