Over 100 companies have confirmed participation in the mini expo slated for 2nd and 3rd December in Solwezi.

The exposition has been organised by the North Western Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Chamber president Mukumbi Kafuta disclosed in an interview that the response is overwhelming as the chamber was expecting only 60 exhibitors.

He said prominent among the companies is Kansanshi,  Kalumbila and Lumwana mines.

“And it is a good thing that we have a big number because it will increase the variety of businesses that are going to exhibit which will result in chances in the area of interaction, ” said Mr Kafuta.

He said the event will be an opportunity to enhance business opportunities as well as foster relationships between Small and Medium Enterprises (SMS ),  national and multinational companies.

He said the aim of the expo is to enhance trade between the Captains of Industry and the SMEs as well as create a platform where the private sector can have an understanding of the contents of the provincial integrated development plan for the region.

“So that we can trigger partnerships, participation, core – financing opportunities as well as funding for certain programmes and projects from the IDPs, ” he said.

He said there will be also opportunities for green financing in climate smart funding as government is encouraging to go green.

“And this we believe is going to open up more opportunities which are going to be alternatives to business for the people in the region,” he said.
