…As daughter accuses father of sleeping with with her in dreamland
A 56 year old man from Monze has sued his 27 year old daughter before the Monze Urban Local Court, accusing her of calling him a wizard.
Medson Hatembo, a resident of Mafuta village says Mercy Hatembo visited him on the 3 July this year and accused him of sleeping with her in her dreams.
Hatembo testifies that he chased his daughter from his yard out of shock, but that she phoned her elder sister 4 days later asking her to collect soil on which he has stepped and a piece of his old clothing.
He says these actions prompted him to bring the matter to court, as accusations of witchcraft are serious and have led to killings in some instances.
In her statement, defendant reiterated that the she has been dreaming of her father sleeping with her since 2015, which made her shift to a new town hoping the dreams would end.
She, however, says the dreams continued, including one that making a drink out of her father’s footprint soil and a piece of his clothing would cure her, hence her request for the materials.
After listening to statements from witnesses who included the defendant’s mother and brother, Presiding Magistrate Cassius Njovu ruled that the family unite in finding a suitable treatment for the problem the defendant.# Byta FM
