Dump man nabbed for sodomy

Police in Rufunsa district have arrested and charged a 29 year old dumb male of Malisau village in Chieftainess Mpanshya chiefdom of Rufunsa for sodomy.
Police identified the suspect as Cornelius Kalenga and confirmed that the incident occurred on Friday July 29 between 18:30 and 20:00 hours at the victim’s residence at St. Augustine flats at Mpanshya mission hospital in Rufunsa.
Police said that the male victim, 13 went out of the house to an outdoor toilet around 18: 30 hours and took long to come back and hence the mother followed to check on him.
The mother said that the victim who went to the toilet took long to come back and as such she followed him to check on him around 20:00 hours.
Police said that the mother found Cornelius Kalenga and his son in the toilet and reported the matter to the police. Police said that a medical report was issued and the two were subjected to a medical check-up and later arrested and charged Cornelius
Police said that they received a report on the material day and charged Kalenga for sodomy. The suspect has since been taken to Luangwa district to appear in court as Rufunsa has no Magistrate Court.
A resident of the same area who sought anonymity alleged that the victim abused the boy, 13 on several occasions, but he did not report the matter. He alleged that the suspect threatened to kill the boy if he reported the matter to anyone. He described the incident as inhuman and hoped that justice will prevail as the boy was traumatized.
