PRESIDENT LUNGU MOURNS CHIEF MUKUPA KAOMA
..says he is saddened by the demise of a number of traditional leaders in the recent past across the country
President Edgar Lungu is saddened by the death of Chief Mukupa Kaoma of the Lungu people of Lunte district in Northern Province.
The President says he learnt with deep sorrow the passing of His Royal Highness Mukupa Kaoma who died on Sunday last week at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
“On behalf of the Government, people of Zambia and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to convey our deepest condolences to the royal family and the people of Lunte District, ” the President said.
And the President is deeply saddened by the demise of a number of traditional leaders who have died in the recent past across the country.
“In the recent past, we have lost a number of traditional leaders across the country, it is indeed a big loss to us.We deeply sympathise with the bereaved royal families and respective chiefdoms, ” the President said.
The President prays that the bereaved royal families and respective chiefdoms may find fortitude and comfort in God Almighty.
This is according to a statement issued by special assistant to the President for press and public relations,Mr Isaac Chipampe.
