Kalumbila schools ready to reopen

KALUMBILA District Education Board Secretary (DEBS), Mutinta Mubanga, says the district is ready to open Schools on Monday next week.

Ms Mubanga said that this is because his office in conjunction with all schools had put in place all preventive measures meant to avoid the spread of Covid19 in all schools.

“We have adequately prepared in all the schools ahead of next week’s opening of schools, and we do not want to leave any stone unturned,” she said.

Ms Mubanga assured parents of total safety for their children and that teachers had put in place all the necessary requirements for pupils to be safe in the learning environment.

She urged parents to ensure that every child wears a mask before leaving home, as the fight against COVID-19 requires concerted efforts from all stakeholders.

Ms Mubanga was speaking during the sensitization of the general public on COVID-19 safety measures organized by school head teachers in Kalumbila district.

The activity which was flagged off by Kalumbila District Commissioner Robinson Kalota, was done under the theme  ‘Head Teachers Promoting Safe and Health Schools’ and included the distribution of face masks.’
