ZAMBIA’S in-form striker Patson Daka scored the second goal as Redbull Salzburg beat Rheindorf Altach 2-0 in the Austrian Bundesliga encounter.

After a short winter break, Redbull Salzburg returned league action with their Zambian duo of striker Patson Daka and midfield ace Enock Mwepu making the starting line-up.

It was Daka’s ninth goal in nine Austrian Bundelsiga matches this season.

It was a cagey affair in the first 45 minutes and the match went to the break level at 0-0 with little creativity from either side.

The second stanza started well for Salzburg, Three minutes in, Enock Mwepu sent a wonderful pass forward to Mergim Berisha, whose ball across – which was intended for Patson Daka – was turned into his net by Altach defender Zwischenbrugger to make it 1-0 for Salzburg.

Fourteen minutes later, a cross from downfield by Rasmus Kristensen found Patson Daka, who headed the ball into the net to put the visitors into a comfortable two-goal lead, Daka’s 16th goal of the season in all competitions in just 18 appearances.

Daka, Bernardo and Mergïm Berisha all had good chances to score but in the end, 2-0 the match ended.

Daka put in an 82-minute shift before being withdrawn for Karim Adeyemi while the Computer, Enock Mwepu put in a 90-minute shift. Mwepu was given a 7.1 rating by Sofascore with 20/33 completed passes and 62 touches winning 11 out of 18 ground duels.
