A clergy in Southern Province has called on citizens to uphold the country’s declaration of being a Christian Nation.

Christian Life Harvest Senior Pastor, Boston Simumba, urged citizens to uphold peace and unity as the country celebrates its anniversary of being a Christian Nation.

On Tuesday, Zambia celebrated the 29th anniversary since it was declared as Christian Nation by the late Second Republican President Dr Fredrick Chiluba.

In an interview with the Sun yesterday, Rev Simumba said citizens should not let politics and tribal lines divide them but should ensure they remain united as they were one people.

Reverend Simumba observed the need for citizens to protect the integrity of the nation by embracing good principles, values and preaching peace at all times.

This year’s Commemoration was held under the theme” Unity and Peace in diversity by the declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation.
