Chongwe man in court for allegedly defiling wife’s niece

A 42-year-old man of Mutamino village in Chongwe has appeared in Chongwe magistrate court for allegedly defiling his wife’s niece.
Kebby Musopelo denied the charge when he took plea before magistrate Marjory Saasa.
Particulars of the offence are that on August 31 2020 the accused person did defile a minor who was below the age of 16. The girl who was a dependant in the home of the accused is reported to be a niece of the accused’ s wife.
The court recorded a plea of not guilty and adjourned the matter to September 21 for commencement of trial.
The accused is remanded in custody awaiting appearance in court on the stated date.
