ZAMBIAN Premier League side Napsa Stars says the club does not intend on signing any foreign players at the moment.

On Friday the rumour mill was rife with claims that former Lusaka Dynamos star Willy Stephanus was likely to return to Zambia with a view of joining Napsa Stars.

But Napsa Stars coach Mohammed Fathi told Sun Sport in an interview that he was not looking to sign any foreign players at the moment as he already had enough foreigners at the club.

Fathi said the club had not at the moment engaged any foreign player from Lusaka Dynamos.

“We have enough foreigners already I’m our team so we are not looking to sign anyone at the moment these are just rumours and not true,” Fathi said.

“The people making these rumours are not being sincere, we have not signed any player from Lusaka Dynamos and don’t intend on doing so.”

NAPSA has had an unsuccessful business with Lusaka Dynamos players in the last few months that has seen some transfer of players stall.

Striker Chris Mugalu and Midfielder Marvin Jere were almost joining the Pensioners two seasons ago but the transfer stalled mid-way after disagreements between the two parties.

The pensioners have been reinforcing its team over the last few seasons that has seen upward trajectory to the performance of the team in the domestic league.

The Lusaka based side are currently second on the league table after playing 26 games in a competition that is currently on recess due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
