ZAMBIA Women National Team coach, Bruce Mwape, says the 5-0 victory over Zimbabwe, in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic first leg qualifier, was sweet.

And Zimbabwe coach, Sithethethilwe Sibanda, said the Warriors will fight for their country’s pride when they face Zambia on Sunday in the return leg in Harare after losing 5-0.

Speaking after Wednesday’s match, Mwape said the victory was sweeter as it was by a comprehensive score-line.

Mwape said the 5-0 first leg win, will ease pressure going into the final leg on Sunday.

He said the 5-0 score-line, would lessen the pressure when when his team travels to Zimbabwe for the second leg.

Meanwhile, Sibanda said her side played under difficult circumstances as they did not train before coming to Lusaka.

“We struggled physically as a team, it is also always very difficult to just meet on the travelling day and travel. There was no training not even a single training so we just met in the morning and left for Zambia,” Sibanda said.

“I think our country is our best enemy in terms of not affording the team time to train,” he said.

Zambia and Zimbabwe will face each other on Sunday in the second leg with the winner over two legs facing either South Africa or Botswana in the next round.

The Copper Queens will fly to Harare on Friday.

A brace from Grace Chanda and a goal apiece from skipper Misozi Zulu, Rachael Nachula and Rachael Kundananji, sealed a comprehensive victory for the Copper Queens at Nkoloma Stadium.
