UNZA REINTRODUCES BACHELOR OF LAW EVENING PROGRAMME

NOEL IYOMBWA writes

THE University of Zambia (UNZA) has reintroduced undergraduate direct entry Bachelor of Law evening programme, says communication officer Habeenzu Mulunda.

Mr Mulunda said the reintroduction had been necessitated by the high demand from members of public wishing to pursue their legal education at the institution.

He also said that UNZA had introduced the first ever six months certificate in legal studies to carter for school leavers who did not currently qualify to apply for direct entry.

“This certificate programme will act as a spring board into direct entry for those who may wish to further their studies in law at UNZA,

“Those who will enroll for a certificate upon completion may apply for direct entry to the LLB programme just like those who have first degrees in any discipline,” Mr Mulunda said

He said that the School of Law was also introducing a one-year Masters of Law degree programme and postgraduate diploma in gender and law.

He said that UNZA had found it prudent to reintroduce direct admission evening programme to carter for professionals with first degrees in any discipline, qualifications equivalent to a degree such as the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) as well as diplomas in law from recognized institutions both local and foreign.
