ZAMBIA’S women national soccer team will aim to reach the finals of the 2019 COSAFA championships to be played at Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa from July 31 -August 11, says Coach Beauty Mwamba.
Mwamba said her team needed to do better than it did last year by aiming to reach the finals of the tournament.
She said her team needed to do better than last year’s performance where it finished fourth.
Speaking after Tuesday’s training session at Miller Grounds, Mwamba who will lead the women team for the second successive time to the tournament said the team was ready for the competition.
Mwamba will be assisted by Bruce Mwape who is the team’s technical advisor.
She said that the Europe-based trio of Barbara Banda, Misozi Zulu and Rachael Kundananji had been replaced as they would be unavailable.
Zambia is in Group B with Namibia, Malawi and Mauritius.
