FAZ has welcome remarks by Republican President Edgar Lungu who is also it’s patron that Zambian football should regain its glory that it used to enjoy in the past.
FAZ communications manager Mwazi Chanda said FAZ acknowledged the fact that Zambia needed to regain its prominent status that it enjoyed in the past.
Chanda said that Zambia’s governing body would work hard to ensure football standards improved.
She said that the association was also happy that the new minister of sport Emmanuel Mulenga had indicated that he was coming to make sure that football was a united front.
“We are happy that the patron of FAZ has indicated that he would like to see Zambia regain its lost prominence that it used to enjoy in the past because Zambia has been known to be a footballing nation,”
“We are also happy that the incoming sports minister has indicated that he would like to see a more united front when it comes to football, so we are quite happy that the minister has been tasked to ensure that football is seen to be a unifier,” Chanda said
FAZ was reacting to President Lungu’s concerns that the soccer standards had deeply fallen and called for an indaba to redress the situation.
The President was speaking when he swore in newly appointed sports Minister Emmanuel Mulenga who has since replaced Chipata central member of parliament Moses Mawere.
Mawere was relieved of his duties following a cabinet reshuffle last Friday.
