A-NINE-YEAR old girl of Mimpolombo Village in Chief Matanda’s area in Mansa District has allegedly been defiled by her biological father.
Police are looking for the suspect, who is on the run.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said the defilement was reported to police in Mansa by the victim’s 28-year-old mother yesterday.
Ms. Katongo said in a statement the suspect is alleged to have defiled his daughter between July 10, around 14:30 hours and July 19, 2019, around 19:00 hours.
“It was reported that the mother to [of] the victim had gone to attend a workshop at a local hotel on 10th July 2019 at 14:30 hours leaving her two female juveniles aged nine and four, respectively, in the custody of their father.
“And when she went back home on 19th July 2019 around 19:00 hours, she found the children and her husband spending nights at a funeral house in the neighborhood and the following morning on 20th July 2019, children returned home but her husband never returned,” Ms. Katongo said.
She said when his wife noticed that one of their daughters was limping and asked her, she revealed that her father had been having canal knowledge of her ever since their mother left them with him.
Ms. Katongo said the girl had bruises on her private parts, which were producing pus.
She said people at the funeral house were alerted but the suspect had already escaped.
Ms. Katongo said a manhunt for the suspect has been launched.
