THE debate aimed at raising awareness and understanding of children’s rights among the pupils and the community will soon be launched, says New Generation Time Organisation (NGT) director Moses Silungwe.

Mr Silungwe said the campaign would target schoolchildren in eight different schools so that they could understand their rights.

He said the debate would be one way of researching and sensitization the school girls so that they could also spread the message to communities.

Mr Silungwe said the audience would be able to learn new ideas and acquire new information during the debates.

“The debate is going to help us to collect different people’s views so that we are able to see how much information they have about children’s rights,” he said.

“This will help us to judge where members of the community are lacking and the change we can bring about,” said Mr Silungwe.

Mr Silungwe said the debate would greatly help the organization properly understand how best to curb early marriages.

He said that the debate would help to effectively raise awareness about the policies and the consequences of not abiding by them.
