ZAMBIA national soccer team stand-in coach Beston Chambeshi says the North African outing was a good learning experience for his team despite winning only one game.

Chambeshi said the tour gave exposure to the first-timers and showed them what to expect when called for national duty.

He singled out under-23 players like goalkeeper Charles Muntanga, Gamphani Lungu and Paul Banda as some of the youngsters who benefited from the exposure the trip provided.

“It has been a good outing. We have played some of the big teams in Africa. This trip has been an exposure to the young players in the likes of Gamphani, (Lungu) Charles (Muntanga) and Paul (Banda) it has been a learning phase despite it not being easy.

We just need to support them,” he said.

Chipolopolo concluded its three international friendly match tour with a 4-1 loss to Africa Cup of Nations bound Ivory Coast in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday afternoon.

The match was Zambia’s final game in their tour of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

The tour was an invitation by the Royal Morocco Football Federation which was preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Zambia started their tour with a 2-1 loss to Cameroon before beating Morocco 3-2 and finally suffering a 4-1 humiliation at the hands of Ivory Coast.
