MOROCCO is not paying anything for the international friendly invitation to the Chipolopolo Boys, says FAZ deputy general secretary Joseph Chimpampwe.
Chimpampwe told the Sun sport that contrary to speculation in the media, the Royal Moroccan Football federation has not paid Zambia any match appearance fees for the planned international friendly.
He said that in as much as hosting teams had the responsibility to pay the visiting teams, appearance fees, Morocco had not paid anything but would only cater for all others expenses.
But soccer administrator Simataa Simataa told Lusaka’s Hot FM radio breakfast show recently that FAZ had not told the nation how much money was paid to it for the Chipolopolo to feature in the Moroccan friendly tournament.
Simataa said that all friendly matches attracted a certain match appearance fees from host nations.
“But unfortunately FAZ has not been disclosing to the nation how much money it will be getting from this friendly with Morocco,” said Simataa.
Chimpampwe explained that if there was cash involved in the past, it did not automatically mean there should be money each time there was a friendly.
“The world is dynamic, it doesn’t mean if there was money before, then that’s a norm but it depends with the agreement in the contract,
“I think at this point it’s just fair to the Moroccan FA that we don’t go into those details,” he said
According to the tournament fixture Zambia will play Cameroon in Madrid today) before playing Gambia on June 12 and Morocco on June 17.
Morocco and Cameroon were using the tournament to prepare for the 2019 AfCON tournament which kicks off on June 21.
