Police launch man hunt for child defiler

POLICE in Chembe district have launched a manhunt for a man only identified as George of Milishi village, Chief Kasomalwela in Chipili district for allegedly defiling a nine-year old girl.

George who is on the run is accused of having defiled a juvenile of the same village.

Zambia Police public relations officer, Esther Katongo told the Sun in a statement that the defilement case was reported on on, June 4 by the mother of the victim.

 “Police in Chembe of Luapula Province are looking for a suspect only identified as George of Milishi village, Chief Kasomalwela in Chipili district for allegedly defiling a nine years old female juvenile of the same village,” Ms Katongo said.

Ms Katongo explained that as the juveniles were playing outside the house, they saw George appr9aching and, ran into the house and locked the door.

 But the suspect is alleged to have entered the house through the window, got the victim and took her to a nearby bush where he sexually abused her.

She said the young brother of the victim cried for help and by the time neighbours were responding to the call of distress, the suspect had fled the scene and was still at large..
