The district commissioner also said that women wanted all forms of gender based violence to end.

Mr Hamunjo further said it was saddening to see girls married at a very tender age, adding that this years womens day celebrations theme “Think equal, Build Smart, nnovate for change” should not be underestimated as women were partners in development.

He said that Zambia had performed well in terms of gender balance in the SADC region as witnessed by a good number of women in key decision making positions that has increased.

He explained that the Patriotic Front government would continue to support women, citing the women group that was given a tractor, trailor, Sheller and ploughs in Chipepo Chiefdom.
