A 27 YEAR old man, of Kalingalinga, Enock Mumba has refused to reconcile with his lover, Bertha Mbale, 27, of the same compound in the Boma Local Court.

Before Local Court Magistrate Peggy Nyambe, was Mbale who told the court that the biggest problem with her husband was always being on Facebook talking to different ladies.

“Tikagona bazambo chattinga pa Facebook naba kazi benangu. Pa Valentines mu 2017, benzo wishingana na gelo winangu ati ‘happy Valentines’, futi naku lemba ma message ya sensitive kuli bakazi bambili”

(When we retire to bed, he would be chatting on Facebook with other women. In 2017 on Valentine’s Day he was even wishing another lady happy Valentine on Facebook. He also writes sensitive messages to other ladies on Facebook,” Ms Mbale said.

In her statement, Mbale said that she had confronted her husband who promised to change but later continued with the Facebook business with one specific lady.

“After ninapeza message nobafunsapo, banani menya nenze nama scratches pa kamwa naku musana, banani menya futi busiku, ndiye mwamene ninatabila nakuyenda pa separation for 8 months,

(When I found a message and asked him about it, he beat me and I had scratches on my mouth and on my back. He beat me up again at night and I ran away. We have been on separation for 8 months,” Ms Mbale said

Mumba however said that the only times Mbale found messages in his phone were before they got married, adding that he had since stopped chatting with girls on Face book.

He then told the court that the biggest problem he had with his wife was that she did not trust him and has too many unnecessary suspicions.

He then told the court that he did not think the court could reconcile them and all he wanted was to break away from his wife.

The court found that the two were actually not married because Mumba had not paid dowry and the problems they had also sprung from Mbale not going through any marriage counselling. The court ruled that there was therefore no marriage to reconcile.
