NIGHT OF LEGENDS IMPRESSES (PICTURES)

The highly publicized Night of Legends music concert presented by Boss Entertainment last week on Saturday at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre will go down in history as one of the most impressive shows.

The event organised to celebrate some of Zambia’s pioneering artistes of the modern-day Zambian music was well-attended and left most fans and music followers impressed.

“It was a great moment to celebrate where we are coming from. It is a show that brought lots of memories and unity,” remarked TV personality and musician Ken One who was among the audience at Mulungushi. Ken One’s sentiments were echoed by a number of fans proving the show had met its objectives.
Interestingly, the event was planned to specifically take music lovers back in our music history of course, with a focus on the modernized Zambian sound.
The event which was an all-live performance kicked off with music from as early as 2000s featuring artistes Hamoba and Ty2. The two delivered their best duets and individual efforts to remind everyone of the massive contributions from Chali Mulalami, the man that ran the two artiste’s music label, Sling Beats.

Later, another graduate from the ‘Chali Mulalami Music Academy’ K’Millian took to the stage giving all his best hits of all times. This impressed the fans who kept singing along to most of K’millian’s songs.
The singing sensation, JK took to the stage after K’Millian and he too, was impressive. He was joined by his all-time friend Wile.
It was then a moment to pay tribute to the contributions female artistes have rendered to the music industry and songbird Angela Nyirenda was the one to prove the point. She stormed the stage with a full band and dancers to give the show a different touch with traditional Zambian beats.

The night was still on as MC for the day, comedian Collins Zulu aka Bwana Njombe kept the mood alive with his comedy. He anchored the show so well that people did not mind the time especially when Izrael formerly called Exile and his wife Nalu took to the stage.
The biggest highlight of the show was a long and closing performance from Danny Kaya and his Mo Fire Band. Danny used the opportunity to also invite other artistes and individuals like Smooth IK and Kalumba Chikonde to the stage. The climax of the show which organisers want to make an annual event came with a brief and farewell performance from Mozegater. It was a night to remember and one hopes the event will be spread to other towns.
