FORMER Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) technical director Honor Janza is a front runner for the same post left vacant following the departure of Moses Sichone who resigned from the position last year.

The former Zambia national team coach is seeking to return to the job he previously held between 2009 and 2016 before he resigned after being removed from the chipolopolo job in june 2015.

Despite having previously held the same position, Janza faces stiff competition from fellow local compatriot Danniel Kabwe a former Lusaka Dynamos, Power Dynamos and  Zanaco Football technical director .

Kabwe and Janza are the only applicants shortlisted for the vacant technical director job which has seen 15 foreigners applying for the post.

Janza however enjoys a rich experience in a similar role having been the longest serving technical director of FAZ which saw him being a part of Zambia’s 2012 AfCON winning bench and also having being to three other Africa Cup of Nations with Zambia in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015 as head coach.

He also coached Red Arrows Football Club where he only lasted for a season after having started the 2017 season on a poor run of results and was sacked sacking mid-way through the season.

Janza also coached 7 time league champions ZESCO United helping them escape relegation in 2004.

According  FAZ), a panel under the watch of a FIFA designated official Govinden Thondoo has been scrutinizing the prospective candidates with interviews to be held over three days.
