Tritonix Technologies Zambia has embarked on a project to empower people living with disabilities with necessary and basic Information and Technology skills to help them find jobs.

Company chief executive officer and youth activist Isaac Muzata announced in a statement that as a digital marketing and corporate branding expert, his company has realized the need to empower people with disabilities with IT skills that are essential for them to find employment.

He said the project is one of the company’s commitment to improve the lives of vulnerable people and help them find means of survival.

“I see a number of disabled people around Lusaka, when you look at them you discover that there is a lot they can do. So as Tritonix, we are embarking on a project that will identify people with disabilities that have completed Grade 12 but cannot find anything to do in life. We will work with the Zambia Agency for People with Disabilities to identify these individuals and then, engage them in free IT Skills training of essential skills that will help them find a job,” said Mr. Muzata who emphasized that with the necessary skills, people living with disabilities can be engaged in IT departments and perform duties like customer care and data entry clerks.

“On this project we are also hoping to engage stakeholders and corporate partners that will help those we will train get job placements. The main reason is to show people that disability is not inability and there is a lot our friends can do once equipped with these IT skills,” added Muzata who named Bwalya Mulyata, Mildred Kaunda of Cutting Edge, Brighton Chishimba (HRO from REA) and Pastor Haggai Mweene as mentors for the project.

He appealed to various corporates to embrace the initiative as he thinks it will help mitigate government efforts in supporting people with disabilities.
