5s Castle Africa bigger this year – ZB

ZAMBIA Breweries (ZB) country director, Jose Moran, has encouraged teams to enter this year’s 5 aside Castle Africa soccer tournament slated for later this year.

The Zambia Breweries sponsored Africa 5s soccer tournament is back bringing soccer players and fans together for an even bigger and better opportunity to reach continental finals scheduled for Dar-es Salaam in Tanzania.

This year’s tournament was officially launched on Wednesday night with former Chipolopolo captain, and 2012 Afcon winning champion Christopher Katongo, as the star attraction.

Speaking at the launch held at Hotel Intercontinental in Lusaka, Mr. Moran put his weight behind the soccer showpiece saying: “We know that Zambia has the skill and talent to take this tournament by storm”.

Mr. Moran said the goal is to bring people together for a better world.

Zambia hosted the inaugural Castle Africa 5s five-aside tournament last year when South Africa’s Milano FC were crowned the ultimate champions after defeating the tournament hosts, Stout One FC of Zambia 3-1 in the final.

The ultimate winners of the tournament will walk away with an all-expenses paid trip to a Ligue 1 match in Milan, hosted by the renowned soccer legend Samuel Eto’o who also graced last year’s event.

Over and above the increase to the footprint, Castel Lager has further diversified by introducing a women’s league, which aligns with the brand’s philosophy of inclusively and social belonging.

Teams can partake in this year’s Africa 5s by purchasing a Castle Lager six-pack and following the instructions on how to enter.

Castle Lager has sponsored football on the continent for over 60 years and continues to provide fans with an opportunity to live-out their passion for their passion for the beautiful game through this exciting social league Africa 5s.
