I COULD not understand the reasoning behind school authorities in Siavonga to keep learning desks in the warehouse and let pupils sit on dusty floors while attending classes.
I was too almost moved to tears when I saw the desperation on the parents’ faces and poor children learning from the dirty floors.
I do not know whatever has gone is wrong with us Zambians because some of things that are taking place in our country are simply bizarre.
I implore to take action against the Siavonga DEBS because what they did is not only inhuman but also shows lack of commitment to work for which they are paid.
At the end of it all, it is the innocent government which takes blame.
This desk scandal needs to be probed thoroughly and culprits who did not want to deliver desks to the rightful owners should be penalized.
The negative attitude towards work should not continue to show its ugly where it is not necessary.
It is also possible that this fake desk shortage could be happening in many places throughout Zambia.
It is my plea that the ministry of general education should take a keen interest in this matter to avert the same happening in different parts of Zambia
