Hi Global sportswear Umbro has renewed its long-term partnership with seven-time Zambian Super league and reigning champions, ZESCO United Football Club. The sportswear announced the signing of the long term partnership on its website yesterday.
The statement quoted a representative from umbro South Africa Donovan Bell saying his company was please to extend its partnership with the Zambian champions.
“We have been involved with ZESCO United Football Club for almost a decade and are excited to extend the partnership. ZESCO have been at the summit of Zambian football for many years and we hope that success continues and culminates in a CAF Champions League,” he said
And Zesco united Chief executive officer Richard Mulenga ZESCO said the Club was pleased to renew the sponsorship deal with Umbro South Africa adding that the partnership was of great value to the club.
The partnership means that Umbro will be the exclusive technical partner of the Club, supplying the playing squad with high performance competition, training, and off field apparel.
The technical and management staff will be supplied with branded apparel, equipment, and luggage while the Fans will also be able to purchase supporter gear.
In 2009, ZESCO United became the first Zambian club to qualify for the CAF African Champions’ League group stage.
The Club is also one of only three Zambian teams who hold an all-time unbeaten home record against non-Zambian opposition.
