ZACA wants enforcement of laws to protect consumers

By SHERRY CHABALA

ZAMBIA Consumers Association (ZACA) has called for enforcement of laws that protect consumers as many manufacturers are exploiting them.

ZACA Executive Secretary says, government has made   efforts in regards to protecting the consumers but there is lack of enforcement.

He said Government should not sit idle seeing consumers being exploited as this is against the laws of Zambia.

“Government needs to take necessary action so that those with the tendency of exploiting consumers are brought to book,” he said.

And Mr Sakala said the Lusaka City Council recently announced that it will not allow the sale of food in un-designated places but this was not happening.

He said the local authority needs to be seen doing the right thing to stop lawlessness.
