A 34 years old Businessman who barely one week ago was discharged from the Choma Magistrates Court on allegations of stealing K700, has reappeared before the same Court now charged with Theft of a cell phone from a Motor Vehicle.

In this matter Eugene Caristo Mudenda of Chomaā€™s Overspill Township is charged with one count of Theft from Motor Vehicle contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Allegations are that Mudenda stole one Cell Phone from a stationary Toyota Vitz valued at K2, 000 the property of Maybin Malambo.

The alleged theft from a motor vehicle happened on May 31, 2021 in Choma district of Southern province.
When the matter came up for plea before Senior Resident Magistrate Peter Mungala, the accused person strongly denied the allegation leveled against him.

Despite the state objecting to Mudendaā€™s bail application stating that he is a perpetual offender who poses a flight risk, Magistrate Mungala granted the accused person K1, 000 cash bail and to provide two working sureties who will be bound in the like sum but in their own recognizance.

The matter was adjourned to June 10, 2021 for commencement of trial.
