THE Zambia Taekwondo Federation ( ZTF) has hailed the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge for promoting youth sports
The Tuelings tournament which is run by the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre in Lusaka has seen several youth particiate in multi-discipline sports over the weekends.
Federation vice president Benny Mubemba says athletes have continued to benefit from the youthful competition.
“The OYDC is doing a good job. Our athletes have been participating in this Teulings Youth Sports Challenge for some time now. We will also use this competition to see and identify which player can be added to the national team to represent Zambia at the region 5 games to be staged in Lesotho,” he said.
Mubemba added that it is competitions like the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge which the federation will use to select athletes to represent Zambia at the regional games.
He disclosed that the turn out during Saturday’ games was impressive as the young talented athletes exchanged kicks in style.
Just like any other weekend the OYDC also organised football and hockey as some of the sports disciplines which are part of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge.
Teams were drawn from communities near the sports facility and Chongwe township. – OYDC
